Arriving in November 2022 at La Casa Verte in Vitry, Laetitia shares her Coliving experience at La Casa. Discover her journey between community life and regained independence.
Stephane (La Casa): Hi Laetitia, can you introduce yourself ?
Laetitia (housemate): Hi, my name is Laetitia, I'm 39 years old, and I've been at La Casa Verte in Vitry for almost a year.
Stephane (La Casa): What do you do for a living ?
Laetitia (housemate): I'm currently an apprentice in web development, and I do coaching, training, and social media for the company I work for.
Stephane (La Casa): What's your background ?
Laetitia (housemate): I've had a journey that took me through roles as a masseuse, spa manager, fitness coach, educational assistant, hypnotherapist, and I've even sold fruits and vegetables, so I would never have thought I'd end up becoming an apprentice in web development.
Stephane (La Casa): How did your relatives react when you told them you were going to live with 14 people ?
Laetitia (housemate): They thought it was awesome and immediately felt it was a good idea.
Stephane (La Casa): Tell us about your best moment at La Casa.
Laetitia (housemate) : During my first weekend at La Casa, I had to leave for 4 days because I was going through a tough time, and during those 4 days, I received messages from my housemates supporting me and checking in on me. It helped me realize that I wasn't alone in this moment, and it really lifted my spirits.
Stephane (La Casa): Why did you choose coliving ?
Laetitia (housemate): I had been living alone in an apartment for 14 years. I loved my apartment but felt I had experienced enough of solitary life. I felt like I knew myself well, so I wanted to share my daily life with new people, share jokes or even pancakes! I wanted to fully experience life in a shared living situation.
Stephane (La Casa): How did you end up at La Casa ?
Laetitia (housemate): I saw a story on La Casa's Instagram account three years ago and immediately loved the concept. The desire turned into a project. Gradually, it became a goal. La Casa met all my desires for a shared living experience.
Stephane (La Casa): Do you ever feel lonely even living with 14 people ?
Laetitia (housemate): Honestly, yes, it happens! We're never all 14 together in the house. I've often had, more than I thought, the common areas all to myself. And that's actually what's great, having those moments without my housemates but also the moments of sharing and joy with everyone.
Stephane (La Casa): How is a friendship built at La Casa ?
Laetitia (housemate): With time, attention, honesty, and listening.
Stephane (La Casa): What's a typical day like at La Casa ?
Laetitia (housemate): It's very hard to describe! Sometimes in the morning, we are 7 having breakfast together, sometimes I'm alone. Sometimes in the evening, we all have an aperitif together, other times we watch a movie. There's never a day that's the same as the previous one.
Stephane (La Casa): What are your relationships with the La Casa Staff like ?
Laetitia (housemate): We get along well with the La Casa Staff, and it's true I like to tease them sometimes! What's certain is that they contribute a lot to our experience.
Stephane (La Casa): What does living at La Casa bring you ?
Laetitia (housemate): Laughter, life, and sharing.
