Justine Lephay, Senior Director of Culture and Talents France at Four Season Hotel George V, explains the strengths of La Casa's coliving offer, from both the employer's and employees' perspectives.
La Casa: How did you hear about La Casa ?
Justine Lephay, Senior Director of Culture and Talent, Four Seasons Hotel George V : The Culture & Talent team had been working for several months on a housing project to address our recruitment challenges and had conducted extensive research on potential housing solutions.
Our goal was to offer comfortable accommodation to our employees, especially those coming from different regions and abroad, while benefiting from a turnkey management solution for us as employers.
We heard about coliving and La Casa from some of our employees who, as part of an internal project, had chosen to work on a defined topic, enriching our initial research on housing options for employees.
The concept of La Casa seemed interesting to us: human-sized shared accommodations in comfortable houses near Paris with the aim of creating social connections and fostering integration of our new employees within the teams at the Four Seasons Hotel George V.
The next step was to meet the team, Victor, founder and CEO of La Casa. We visited La Casa offices, which are set up like a Casa, and we really liked the concept: a spacious and tastefully decorated house, equipped for communal living, with each person having a private bedroom and bathroom, services included in the price, and above all, a turnkey management. This highly innovative concept seemed to address our challenge in every way!
We decided to rent our first Casa, easily accessible from the Four Seasons Hotel George V via the RER C.
La Casa: Why did you implement this housing solution for your employees ?
Justine, Four Seasons Hotel George V: True to its golden rule: "Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself," the Four Seasons Hotel George V wanted to improve the conditions for its new French and international talents arriving in the Paris region by providing them with temporary accommodation.
One of our goals was to attract new talents, mainly profiles coming from hotel schools located outside the Paris region. However, for a majority of them, the question of housing in Paris is a barrier to their mobility. Living in Paris is expensive, and these profiles often have limited purchasing power because they are just starting their professional lives. Moving to Paris from the provinces can also mean social isolation, as they are moving to a big city far from their family and friends.
Therefore, it seemed obvious to us that facilitating access to housing for these individuals was crucial to facilitate the recruitment of new talents.
Although this housing solution is available to all our contracts (permanent, fixed-term, interns, apprentices), it is particularly aimed at junior profiles coming from regions or abroad, as well as seasonal profiles for whom finding accommodation in Paris for a few months is difficult, if not impossible.
Since May 1st of last year, La Casa du George V has opened its doors to its first guests! In this friendly and warm atmosphere, La Casa is a place of sharing, cultural exchanges, and know-how brought by employees from all over the world.
La Casa: What are the points that you value in La Casa's proposition compared to another coliving housing offer ? Other advantages for you as an employer ?
Justine, Four Seasons Hotel George V: Firstly, it's the quality of the product. We are proud to be able to offer this quality of housing to our employees: a comfortable and modern house, a cinema room, a large garden, a private space for each individual with a shower, toilet, and independent individual bedroom.
Secondly, it's the connection and sharing that collective living at La Casa allows, in a human-sized and warm house. Each person has their room with a private bathroom, but the rest of the house is shared, which fosters genuine communal living with exchange. For us, this connection among new employees will facilitate their integration into the company.
Lastly, it's the management and follow-up offered by La Casa that made the difference compared to other solutions. We regularly receive reports from La Casa, allowing us to have an overview and to take action if necessary, without being intrusive in our employees' lives.
The turnkey service for our employees' arrivals and departures provides us with real comfort as an employer.
La Casa : What are the profiles of the employees living in La Casa de Vitry-Crette ?
Justine, Four Seasons Hotel George V : To date, we have several employees at La Casa, both permanent and temporary contracts, as well as interns. They all come from either the region or abroad.
For these profiles, arriving with turnkey accommodation is reassuring and comfortable. All of this fosters their integration into the hotel.
La Casa : Is this a sustainable solution for you ?
Justine, Four Seasons Hotel George V : At this stage, we are delighted with the partnership with La Casa. We will wait to see how the first few months go and review with the employees living in our Casa.
La Casa : What are the initial feedback from your employees living in La Casa ?
Justine, Four Seasons Hotel George V : Shana, an intern at our establishment, recently joined La Casa: "Joining La Casa was a huge relief for the start of my internship at the George V. Being a student in Spain, searching for accommodation remotely, without any knowledge of Paris, was a bit daunting. However, as soon as I moved into this beautiful house, I was welcomed by fantastic roommates. A warm and friendly atmosphere prevails at La Casa. After our respective days, we enjoy gathering in the kitchen and sharing about our days. One of our favorite activities is to gather in our equipped cinema room to watch a good movie in a relaxed atmosphere. By living at La Casa, I am always surrounded by caring people who make my adaptation to Parisian life easier.
Rachid, Sales Assistant: "My experience with La Casa, the housing solution offered by my employer, the Four Seasons George V in Paris, is truly exceptional. As a former employee of the Four Seasons in Madrid, Casa George V provided invaluable support by offering me a place to settle in during these first months. This allowed me to focus on obtaining the necessary documents to find an apartment on my own. The beauty of this experience goes far beyond the elegance of the accommodation; it's a place to forge genuine human connections. Sharing this accommodation with people from diverse backgrounds gave us the opportunity to make new acquaintances and create beautiful memories together. The well-equipped house fostered a warm atmosphere of camaraderie, making our stay unforgettable. I am very grateful for this enriching and fulfilling experience at La Casa George V.
